Five Social Media Strategies every Leader needs to follow

Are you nervous or uncertain about the effectiveness of Social Media? Considering that you’ve read my previous blog, ” Why leaders should use social media to build thought leadership“, which helps you to understand how social media can help you to broaden the reach of your company’s message. There are samples to show how CEO’s of billion dollar companies are using it to their brands advantage.

The more you build relationships with your followers, the more likely you and your brand are going to be noticed. In other words, you’re an Influencer for company or a party.

So how can you be a great influencer of yourself and your brand on social media?

There are plenty of ways, but I think the following five are the best. I’m sure they’ll work because I have seen and followed the leaders who have used them.

Follow these strategies and you’re guaranteed to make huge strides in building great relationships with your followers:

1. Be the face of the company:

The trust of follower’s on brands, companies and parties have diminished with all the resources at their disposal. Lack of online transparency with your audience is inexcusable. Create & share contents, insights and be the face of the company. Connect & participate with the community, listen & answer questions from your audience.

2. Be a Producer: Generate captivating content

Generating user-specific content will create traction and the engagements are more authentic as the followers relate to the post. This is a time where organic social reach is in a decline. It’s essential to create content that captivates your user. Also consider sharing good posts, posted by your followers on your profile which helps in building stronger relationships.

3. Be a Distributor: Influence followers to share

Innovation is a hallmark of a strong leader. Successful leaders not only distribute content or concepts conventionally, but find unique ways to add values to their followers. Be an influencer. People follow leaders from whom they get to learn. They keep coming back to get guidance and inspiration. Start building community with followers of similar interests. This would push your reach.

4. Choose the social channels wisely:

Understanding and choosing the right channel to be a part of is key to being successful in social media. Having presence on all social channels is not important having presence where you have maximum followers is key. Platfrom like Facebook has around 2 billion users, Instagram has 600+ million users, whats app has 1.3 billion users. Social channel which is popular among the generation Z is Snap Chat which has around 300+ million users. LinkedIn is powerful among B2B networks; Twitter among the tech and media savvy; Facebook and Instagram have broad reach and famous among B2C networks.

5. Be Consistent

The real key to success – and where most leaders fail – is simple consistency. Leaders are not ready to allocate certain time on socializing as they consider its a waste of time. Never backout thinking you might end up doing a mistake. The occasional slip-up is understandable. Everyone make mistakes, after all. What sets true leaders apart is willingness to own them.

” If you’re on social media, it’s a signal that you’re open for conversation”

It’s never too early to overhaul your marketing strategy. Your goal as a leader is to adapt to the trends and never backdown. Competiton is very high in the market but being inactive is not the way to go. Build killer strategy now! Its time to
