We’re saying Technology can change Politics. Do you agree?
Politics is mistaken as ‘to take control’, by blindly not considering what’s right and what’s not. But with technology taking over the world it’s high time for political parties and its leaders to rethink this concept.
In the era of internet where people are more active over digital platforms than on any other traditional channels, it’s important for politicians to be a part of the change. Hence they need a new weapon in their arsenal to effectively reach their targeted audience. Technology has changed the way publishing books works, as it has changed everything else in the world of media.
You are cruising along, and then technology changes. You have to adapt. – Marc Andreessen
Effective use of social platforms was a game changer for BJP during the elections of 2014. BJP used the same strategy which was used by Barack Obama back in 2009 to win the presidential elections. They effectively used digital platforms like social media to campaign online and won the elections comprehensively.
With millennials coming to the age of voting and statistics as quoted by Statista says, by 2020, a total of 67 percent of the internet user base will be under 35 years.
Hence its very important for politicians to keep up with technological changes. It will be incredibly disruptive if the politicians don’t get it right and be a part of this change.
Artificial Intelligence is changing the entire concept of politics. There are instances where robots have contested in elections. During the Russian presidential elections of 2018, a robot named “Alice” campaigned with a slogan “the president who knows you best” and it received a couple of thousand votes. That’s not it, a robot named “Michihito Matsuda” a robot from Japan contested the Mayoral elections in Tama, a part of Tokyo. The most recent to this list is “Sam”, a robotic politician from New Zealand will be contesting the general elections in 2020.

Social Media is a pretty valuable tool for politicians to maintain relationship with the citizens. It allows you to reach out to a wider audience and get the message out there and thus creating a buzz about a particular content you’re working on. Through social media you can get endorsements from other politicians and your followers and this acts as a stamp of approval on whatever work you have done for the society. When you share your ideology on social media, you can reach out to mass audience and even get opinions on the thoughts.
But with all these technical advances there are a lot of misinformation’s, miss-allegations running around political parties and candidates. There is a desperate need for a reliable source of information. To solve this issue, MyLeaders has come with the concept of making the truth self-evident with their socio-political app. It’s not just another social platform. Using MyLeaders, a politician gets a unique platform to showcase their political portfolio, share opinions and many more. MyLeaders aims to keep their content to the point and deliver the best civic information to its audience.
The concept of money is so universally recognized that if we don’t reduce that influence, our system risks losing its legitimacy. And in an era where the millennial’s are rarely participating in elections, MyLeaders thinks that technology can create a change and make politics transparent.
